A rare and old Piemontese wine, dating back to 1800, which Nick discovered by chance, while at the biennial International Cheese Festival in Bra in 2013. Grown on the hills of Verduno, traditionally the wines cannot be consumed until 1st March in the year after harvesting.
Ruby red with violet tinges, intensely fragrant on the nose with fruity, and spicy characteristics. Pelaverga is dry, fresh with a velvety and harmonic finish.
A spicy fragrance of white pepper can be detected making the Pelaverga grape an excellent pairing for cured meats and salami, mushrooms and fish.
For something a little different, we recommend this red from Piedmont.
