Spanish Membrillo – an alternative to a relish or chutney for cheese or charcuterie. Made from Spanish quinces, these fruit pastes or ‘jellies’ which were originally created to use up the harvest. So good to accompany cheeses, charcuterie, pates, game or Sunday roasts! It can also be served in slices as a dessert.
Quince – smooth, firm and floral. Try with hard sheep’s cheeses such as Pecorino or Manchego or soft cheeses such as Brie, Farleigh Wallop or Pavé Cobble. Serve with Roast Pork as a change from the classic English apple sauce.
