Product Description

Locally brewed Stonehenge Ales, set on the banks of the River Avon at Netheravon where in 1993 a Danish Master Brewer embarked on the challenging road of brewing award-winning, handcrafted English beers.

Each of the beers is brewed to its own recipe using the traditional infusion mash method, using only the finest quality malt, whole hops and Stonehenge Spring Water.  The beers are allowed to condition naturally in the cask.

From the range we have selected an initial two beers, the Heel Stone and the Great Bustard:

Heel Stone:  Brewed at OG 1042 and 4.3% abv.
A copper coloured best bitter brewed using SS Water, barley, crystal and wheat malts, whole hops and the brewery’s own top-fermenting yeast.  A medium bodied session beer with plenty of flavour in the aftertaste.  Malty, fruity and hoppy.

Great Bustard:  Brewed at OG 1046   and 4.8% abv – currently out of stock
A dark amber coloured beer with a deep red hue, traditionally brewed with the addition of rye.  Complex malt and fruit flavours develop into a lingering fruity and bitter aftertaste.
First brewed in 2003 to celebrate the reintroduction of the Great Bustard into the Salisbury Plain in 2003.
